Percentage compositions is really simple. It is simply how much of an element we have in a substances - in percentage form.
For example,
CuBr2
Coper’s atomic mass number is 63.5 while bromines atomic mass is 80. To work out coppers percentage composition we would add the two to get the total and device coppers mass by the total, then multiple it by 100 to get it in percentage form:
63.5 + 80 x 2 = 223.5
then we do: 63.5/223.5 = 28%
